The maternity portraits you’ll still be looking at in twenty years.

Editorial sessions in Hartford, Stonington, on location, or at home. Designed around the woman in front of the camera, not the one she’s supposed to be.

Some moments deserve more than a quick photo between everything else you’re doing.

Maternity is one of them. For two hours you stand still long enough for someone to see you the way your child will want to see how they were carried, twenty years from now, when right now is no longer happening.

You just show up. I handle everything else.

THE EXPERIENCE

Before:

A short questionnaire comes with this page. Tell me what you want to feel in these portraits, what wardrobe pulls you, what makes you nervous. I read every answer and design your session around what you write.

Session day:

You won’t have to wonder what to wear, where to stand, or what to do with your hands. I’ll guide you through every pose and expression, so you don’t have to think about anything except being present. The first few minutes are quiet while your shoulders drop. Then we start making pictures.

Three weeks later:

Your gallery arrives in your inbox. That feeling when you see it for the first time it is what I’m working for.

WHERE WE SHOOT

Most sessions take place at Studio 206 in Hartford. Natural and studio light, full control, the place I do my best work.

I also shoot at a second studio in Stonington, CToutdoors when the season and the vision call for it, and at your home for newborn and family lifestyle sessions, in your light, your rooms, your chapter.

We’ll choose together.

Connecticut fine art studio baby portrait.

When is the best time for a maternity session?

Between 27 and 34 weeks — you’re showing, baby has grown, and you’re still comfortable.

What if my baby is fussy during the shoot?

Babies set the pace. We take breaks whenever needed — no rush.

Do I need to bring anything to wear?

Not a thing. My studio wardrobe is curated and includes various sizes. If you have a piece that means something to you, bring it — we’ll find a way to use it.

What if I don’t know how to pose?

That’s my job. I direct every shot, every turn of your head. Most of my clients have never been photographed professionally before — and they’re always surprised at how natural it feels once we start.

Where do you shoot?

Most sessions happen at Studio 206 in Hartford. I also work at a second studio in Stonington, CT, outdoors when the season and the look call for it, and at your home for newborn and family lifestyle sessions.

Do you do classic posed newborn photography?

No, and that’s intentional. I photograph newborns lifestyle: in your arms, against your skin, in the rooms where you already live. No beanbags, no props, no posed shapes. The point is to capture how it actually felt to hold them in the first weeks.

How long until I receive my images?

About three weeks after your session day. The time between your session and your gallery is where most of the work happens. I go through every frame, choose the strongest, and carefully edit each one: skin and tone retouching, color grading, the small deliberate adjustments that turn a frame into a finished portrait. It is unhurried, considered work, and it is what makes the difference between snapshots and images you will want to print and keep. Your gallery arrives as a private online link when it is ready.

This is your moment.

Let’s make it beautiful.
